Chief Technical Adviser to The Honourable Minister of Power, Nigeria
With a career that includes more than two decades in the energy sector, Dayo Olowoniyi has established himself as a respected figure in driving African business growth. His professional journey began in London at Deloitte & Touche, where he provided audit services to companies in the energy and manufacturing industries.
Dayo has extensive international experience, and deep expertise in Sub-Saharan Africa’s power sector, especially Nigeria. As the first Nigerian CEO and Country Manager at ABB, he played a key role in Nigeria’s power sector reforms, offering best practice advice to the Ministry of Power. He has led the development of several power generation projects across Africa, including a 95 MW plant in Kenya and an 80 MW plant in Niger.
He is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor’s in Economics from Richmond American University, a Bachelor’s in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, and a Master’s in Finance from Webster University.
