Fahmida Smith is a chemical engineer who has been in the platinum group metals mining industry for 25 years. She leads Anglo American’s Market Development work on global hydrogen economy development, where she works closely with the South African government as well as local and international industry players.
Responsible for the development of the first hydrogen fuel cell forklift and refuelling station in South Africa, she is currently focused on the development of a South African Hydrogen Valley and the first heavy-duty hydrogen freight corridor.
Currently studying towards an MBA, Fahmida has an Advanced Diploma in Business Project Management from the University of Cape Town, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Leadership from Monash, and is ECSA Pr Techni Eng PMP and PMI-RMP accredited.
