Dr Arkebe Oqubay is a distinguished scholar-practitioner who has been at the centre of policymaking in Ethiopia for over 30 years, successfully leading bold reforms and playing a key role in the country’s economic transformation.

He has also served as board chair and vice chair of leading public corporations, including Ethiopian Airlines, and is the founding Chancellor of Addis Ababa Science and Technology University, as well as a member of the AfCFTA Advisory Council appointed by the African Union Summit.

An advocate and champion for environmental sustainability within Africa and globally, Dr Oqubay has focused his work on policies and strategies for economic diversification and green industrialisation in developing countries. In addition to being the recipient of numerous prestigious accolades, he holds several professorial appointments
