Professor Adam Habib is a well-known academic, researcher, activist, administrator and public intellectual. A Professor of Political Science, he has over 30 years’ expertise spanning five universities and multiple local and international institutions.

Formerly the Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, he serves on the Council of the United Nations University and is also a co-founder of the African Research Universities Alliance, an elected member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a fellow of both the African Academy of Science and the Academy of Science of South Africa. He also serves on the Council of the United Nations University. He has published numerous edited

books, chapters and journal articles, and continues to make his mark now in the UK as a thought leader on the Global South. Professor Habib holds qualifications in Political Science from three universities as well as a Master’s and a PhD from the Graduate School of the City University of New York.
